As part of the on-going celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Embassy of India, Baku, in association with the Baku City Executive Power and the Executive Power of Sabail District, organized a Tree Planting Drive on the occasion of the World Environment Day as part of the ongoing celebrations of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at the Friendship Park in Baku on 5 June 2019.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of India, Mr. B. Vanlalvawna, spoke about Mahatma Gandhi's noble principles and highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and creation of green belt for our sustenance. The event, in which 150 olive saplings were planted, was attended by over 100 people, including Moldovan Ambassador, Mr.Gheorghe Leuca, Mr. Vugar Shikammadov, Deputy Mayor of Sabail District of Baku, and Mr. Mirhasan Hasanov, representative of Baku City Executive Power, and Ms. Simona Haeberli, Cd’A Embassy of Switzerland.
