Embassy of India, Baku commemorated the 'Veer Baal Diwas' to honour the martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh and Baba Zorawar Singh, the 'Sahibzade' of 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji in the Embassy premises on 26th December 2022. The event, held was attended by over 50 people.
In his address, Mr Vinay Kumar, Charge d’Affaires of India in Azerbaijan, welcomed the participants to the commemoration of “Veer Baal Diwas” to pay tribute to the unparalleled sacrifices made by Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, the sons of 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji, while walking on the path of truth and justice.
He said that the Government of India has announced that starting from 2022, every year, 26th December shall be observed as ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ to mark the martyrdom of the two Sahibzade.
C’dA also shared the brief story of the Sahibzade with the event participants.
“Millions of salutes to the two young Sahibzade who sacrificed their lives at a very tender age, standing up for their beliefs and keeping the dignity of Sikhism high,” he said.
Mr Vinay Kumar also said that an exhibition on “Veer Baal Diwas” was being showcased to pay tribute to the bravery and martyrdom of the two Sahibzade, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, and invited the participants to also view the exhibition.
It should be reminded that Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi on the day of birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on 9th January 2022 announced celebration of ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ to pay homage to the courage of Sahibzade sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Guru.
